Ahead of their putative South title decider this weekend, Hoboken FC slipped two points behind new leaders Polonia Gwardia after a 3-3 draw with Williamsburg International at Laurel Hill Park.
In a seesaw affair, Zach Kraft drew first blood for the Jersey club two minutes in. However, Yann Micuta [58th] and Mark Gallagher [63rd] flipped the script.
Then came Hoboken’s Jeremy Witherspoon to the rescue with two equalizers [70th, 86th] – the last canceling out Rob Markwell’s potential winner [79th].
“With the draw against Hoboken we’ve earned a positive result against every team in our division,” observed Williamsburg’s Charles von Rosenberg.
Hoboken’s Gleb Mironenko [10th] netted the only goal of the reserve encounter.
Polonia, who host Hoboken 12 p.m. this decider in both teams’ regular season finale, blanked Panatha 3-0.
The Polish reserves won 4-2.
